Report: Raptors sign Armoni Brooks to two-year contract

Armoni Brooks! He's done great, and is now rewarded for it.

The Toronto Raptors are signing Armoni Brooks to a full NBA contract, per Shams Charania!

That the 2022-23 season is partially guaranteed rather than not at all speaks to his performance so far in his new home. Brooks has performed admirably with the Raptors. His box score stats — 11.1 minutes, 2.9 points, 0.5 assists, 1.5 rebounds, and 29.2 percent from deep — are muted, but his impact has actually been much larger. He has averaged 0.6 steals and 0.3 blocks per game, which are monstrous numbers in his minutes. He’s slotted in perfectly on the defensive end, always making the correct rotation, and often being in the correct place to finish off stands with the steal. He’s taken the right shots, even if they haven’t fallen.

Our own Adon Moss broke down in enormous detail what he’s brought to the team, and he’s slotted beautifully into Toronto’s weirdo conception of a bench. In the grand scheme, he’s done exactly what the Raptors have asked of him, which is a hard job. He’s earned this contract, so congratulations to Armoney.
