Grandstand Highlight of the Night: Jahlil Okafor is a bad man

The fan-made highlight of the night, brought to you by Grandstand.

First thing’s first: Raptor fans, we need to start showing up better on the Grandstand app. We know from the broadcasts and from the comments and forums that Raps fans hit the road like no other fan base. So in the future, if you go to a game, upload a Raptors highlight or two to Grandstand and let us know – this is the second time we’re using an opposing team highlight, unfortunately. Sixers fans aren’t going to upload Norman Powell dunking all over them.

Anyway, the story of the first half wasn’t the Raptors’ dominance of the Sixers but rather the interior dominance of rookie center Jahlil Okafor. His ability to carve out deep post position against a strong opponent like Jonas Valanciunas was impressive, and his footwork for a man his size is remarkable.

He can also throw down, as one Philly fan caught in slow-motion:

Okafor finished with 26 points on 13-of-22 shooting in 33 minutes, adding seven rebounds and four blocks. He got the better of Valanciunas for the most part, but Valanciunas hammered him on the glass, and Okafor’s offensive edge didn’t end up mattering much. Still, this is battle is a rematch to look forward to the next time the two teams square off.
