With Kobe Bryant in town to face the Toronto Raptors for the last time, every question asked of a player and coach will probably be about the 17-time All-Star and five-time five-time five-time five-time five-TIME NBA champion.
That’s especially true for DeMar DeRozan, who counts Bryant as an idol, mentor, and “my man.”
As a reminder, DeRozan has designs on learning every trick Bryant has left to show before the latter hangs ’em up.
Dwane Casey was also asked about Bryant during his media availability Monday.
Less talked about with Bryant’s farewell is the return of Lou Williams, who better get cheered tonight. The Raptors got him essentially for free, and he turned in a great year for the club before the Raptors, not Williams, decided it wasn’t a long-term fit.
DeRozan still talks to his old teammate everyday, said Lou was disappointed it didn’t work out in Toronto. “He felt like he found a home”
