The Miami Heat may have avoided disaster in the second quarter of Game 2.
First, Jonas Valanciunas fell on the left knee of Dwyane Wade in a rebounding scrum.

Wade stayed on the ground for a possession before checking out, as Heat trainers looked at his knee. He didn’t immediately re-enter the game, but he spent multiple timeouts walking around, stretching it out, and generally trying to get comfortable. He checked back in after a short amount of time, and while he looked uncomfortable, the fact that he didn’t sit the remainder of the second quarter (a little over four minutes) is a good sign for Miami.
Shortly after, Hassan Whiteside landed hard on his left arm getting fouled going for a rebound and required an official’s timeout before he could shoot his free throws.
He stayed in the game, as well, and it’s worth noting he’s already dealing with knee and thigh soreness. Considering he nearly immediately destroyed a Kyle Lowry layup attempt, he’s probably alright.
To top things off, Goran Dragic was busted open trying (unsuccessfully) to draw a charge on DeMar DeRozan. He had to leave the game late in the second quarter, possibly to receive stitches or, like, a bandaid or something.

Well, they said the playoffs would get physical. The Heat have to be thankful none of these injuries wound up being serious, and the Raptors have to
