Sometimes basketball seems like a more complicated game than it is, most recently a lot has been made about the difference defensive looks the Raptors have thrown at the Celtics. These looks are more a composition of a handful of different approaches to defense. Their effectiveness is in how you pepper them throughout the game rather than the scheme itself. In this short video I’ve picked a few plays which show how you can mix zone coverage and man-to-man coverage to keep an offense on its toes.
