He’s back! Did not show much rust and looked confident early stepping into a three. It’ll take a while for him to get back into the flow of the offense, but played as good as you could ask.

O. Anunoby38 MIN, 16 PTS, 8 REB, 3 AST, 0 STL, 7-16 FG, 1-6 3FG, 2- FT, 0 BLK, 2 TO, -13 +/-

Tough night on both ends. Was not a difference maker on Kevin Durant and he missed his first five triples. Will have to adjust offensively with Siakam returning.

C-
S. Barnes31 MIN, 8 PTS, 7 REB, 4 AST, 5 STL, 4-7 FG, 0-1 3FG, 0- FT, 0 BLK, 1 TO, -7 +/-

His first rough defensive game. KD ate him up early, while Harden blew by Barnes numerous times. Offensively, he hit a nice fadeaway in the first and was all over the stat sheet.

A-
F. VanVleet41 MIN, 21 PTS, 3 REB, 8 AST, 2 STL, 6-14 FG, 3-8 3FG, 6- FT, 0 BLK, 1 TO, -11 +/-

After passing off a layup attempt early, Fred became super aggressive. He carved up Patty Mills twice on isolations, leading to both a three and a layup.

G. Trent Jr.36 MIN, 14 PTS, 1 REB, 2 AST, 0 STL, 7-14 FG, 0-5 3FG, 0- FT, 1 BLK, 1 TO, -12 +/-

He had his own 10-2 run in the third as the Raptors desperately needed his offense. Didn’t hit a three, but was lethal in the mid range.

B
C. Boucher9 MIN, 6 PTS, 1 REB, 0 AST, 1 STL, 2-2 FG, 0-0 3FG, 2- FT, 1 BLK, 2 TO, +4 +/-

Was impressive with his limited minutes. Was in the closing group in lieu of Siakam who was on a minutes restriction. Had a silly turnover at the end of the game that squashed any comeback attempt though.

P. Achiuwa27 MIN, 13 PTS, 8 REB, 0 AST, 1 STL, 6-11 FG, 1-2 3FG, 2- FT, 1 BLK, 0 TO, -13 +/-

Coming off the bench, he looked a lot better. Did not force as many shots, and played within the flow of the offense.

B-
D. Banton12 MIN, 5 PTS, 2 REB, 4 AST, 1 STL, 2-4 FG, 0-1 3FG, 1- FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, 0 +/-

The birthday boy had a nice steal, and was disruptive with his length. Was smart on the offensive end but did not play a lot.

C+
S. Mykhailiuk21 MIN, 5 PTS, 0 REB, 1 AST, 0 STL, 2-7 FG, 1-4 3FG, 0- FT, 0 BLK, 1 TO, -5 +/-

Played 21 quiet minutes. Missed a couple threes and had his go guarding Harden a couple times.

B-
Nick Nurse

Defense was rough today trying to contain Brooklyn’s two stars. The rotation was fine, as Nurse managed to keep together the bench unit.

Things We Saw

  1. Blake Griffin the sharpshooter? He hit 4 threes, the majority from the corner.
  2. Raps shot 7/29 from three. That is not going to win you many games.
  3. Kevin Durant, as usual, was unstoppable. I feel like he shoots 100% on his midrange pull ups. Has arguably the best jumper in the league. Raps threw almost everyone at him defensively but he still powered his way to 31 points. Brooklyn went with a bunch of KD/Harden pick and rolls late which were tough to handle.
  4. Man, that end of first half sequence was wild. Boucher steal and slam, Barnes steal and slam followed by FVV carving up Patty Mills for a tough layup to put them up 7. Defense to offense. A Raptors specialty.
