I’m at the Raptors game and Kiyan is on Raptors 905 post-game, but I couldn’t allow this highlight to go un-posted.
Ronald Roberts, who is tearing up the D-League for a second season in a row and has to be inching closer to a call-up when 10-day contracts can be offered on Jan. 5, managed to turn an alley-oop pass into a two-handed windmill on Tuesday night.
Sadly, Roberts told Raptors Republic earlier this season that he wouldn’t participate in the D-League dunk contest, even with a chance to win it on home turf.
Roberts entered play averaging 17.6 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks while shooting 65.6 percent from the floor. It seems likely that the Raptors’ organization will lose Roberts in the new year, at least temporarily – the Raptors have a full 15-man roster and would have to cut someone to make room for him if and when another NBA team comes calling.
Nothing imminent. But teams can give 10-day contracts as of Jan. 5, and Roberts is among the top 3-5 most likely call-ups. (@mrkean22)
