On September 29th Nate Huffman announced that he was terminally ill, fighting against Stage 4 bladder cancer. Today, Nate Huffman passed away at the age of 40.
Nate Huffman had a brief one-year stint with the Toronto Raptors during the 2002-2003 season, featuring in seven games under then head coach Lenny Wilkins. He averaged 3.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in just under 11 minutes per game. Huffman’s most successful stint came prior to joining the Raptors where he played for Maccabi Tel Aviv for three seasons – winning three national championships and one Euro FIBA SuproLeague title. In 2001, while averaging a double-double, Huffman was named MVP of the Israeli Basketball League.
