News: OG Anunoby To Miss Time Following Surgery

A rough season continues for OG Anunoby, as he is expected to miss a minimum of 2 weeks following emergency appendectomy surgery.

The Raptors have weathered their fair share of injury and rest days throughout an 82 games schedule but seemed to be finding a measure of health over the last few weeks as the playoffs approached.  That changed today as it was announced that OG Anunoby will miss some time following an emergency appendectomy.

According to the initial report, OG is expected to miss at least two weeks worth of action, although it is seems fair to presume his absence could be longer.  In all likelihood this means that OG will miss the entirely of the first round series against the Orlando Magic, but could conceivably become available in the second round or the Eastern Conference Finals if Toronto is still playing (as we all hope they will be).

This is the latest incident in what has been a rough season for OG.  He has missed time for personal reasons following the death of his father last summer, and also missed stretches with a sprained wrist and concussion like symptoms.

Hopefully it is a quick recovery for OG, but the most important thing is to get him right and healthy.
