Raptors FanFest: Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon

Raptors Fanfest was Sunday’s second thing to do after watching pathetic Liverpool get lucky and tie Arsenal. First time ever at the event and it was what I’d expected. Some nice (and fairly lame) Raptors contests such as a three point shootout, skills competition and some nice talk from the players. The same old ‘thanks for supporting us’ and ‘it all starts with you’ chatter. Some little kids showed up and did a dance competition which yielded awwws from the crowd. Throw some t-shirts and basketballs into the crowd and everyone’s happy.

Juan Dixon won the three-point shootout and Delfino’s team of three (forget the other two right now) won the skills competition. Jamario Moon made a semi-mockery of the national anthem and got rightfully booed for it (video below). The most impressive thing of the afternoon was to see Bargnani drain a halfcourt shot with ease. He didn’t run and chuck it, it actually came out of his normal release.
