Kyle Lowry: We’re Going to Make Teams Adjust to Us

Recapping Kyle Lowry's chat with the media on Tuesday, October 27.

In the post-practice scrum, Kyle Lowry spoke to the media.

On whether his new teammates have answered the questions he had prior to training camp:

I never had questions to be honest. They put a team together and we’ll see what we got tomorrow.

What this camp has been about:

All the camps with Dwane Casey have always been about defense. The same as before, but we just put in different type of schemes.

When asked what the approach for the power forward spot will be, and whether the team will be going small:

We’re going to do what we do. That’s one thing I think we’re getting better at: making teams adjust to us, and not us adjusting to teams.

On whether player expectations for minutes has been set:

We got a good sense who’s going to be playing the minutes. Guys have a sense of how many minutes they’re going to play.

On playing with Cory Joseph:

I think it’ll be easier to play with Cory. At the end of the day he’s a guy who wants to pass first and make plays for his teammates, very defensive minded.

On DeMarre Carroll’s role in the offense:

DeMarre’s a guy who doesn’t need the ball, he’s going to get his baskets cutting, running hard, defense creating his own offense. We’re not necessarily looking to run plays for him, he’s a guy that doesn’t need the ball.

Dwane Casey also spoke about how he’s been hiding things on purpose to try and not give away too much – ooh, tasty.
