Drake Night IV set for Nov. 16 vs. Warriors

The Raptors are undefeated on Drake Night.

The Golden State Warriors don’t have a chance.

When the NBA Championship favorites visit the Air Canada Centre on Nov. 16, they’ll be going up against not only the Toronto Raptors, they’ll be up against the global ambassador, Drake, and the team’s undefeated record on Drake Nights.

So, yeah, Drake Night IV is going down next week. Against the Warriors. Make your jokes about Drake having been on their team flight last week, being a frontrunner, etc. It won’t change the fact that the Raptors are 3-0 – three. and. oh. – on Drake Night. Here’s what I wrote about last year’s event, when the Raptors topped the Cavaliers and Drake essentially took a heat-check three from a marketing perspective. It was fun. That’s all this is meant to be, fun.

What could be weird about this year’s instalment is a lack of OVO tie-in. With the Raptors set to debut their Huskies alternate on Saturday, they’ll have used up their alternate jersey allotment, unless they’ve been given the thumbs up for a fifth kit (this happens sometimes). The Raptors are also on the second night of a back-to-back (they’re in Cleveland on Nov. 15), so there may be less of a media circus this time around. Or not. Who knows? It’s now suddenly a big week for the city, as the WWE is here for a series of events over the weekend that follows, as well.

Thoughts? Does Drake Night move the needle for you any longer? Excited for a free OVO shirt and to see Drake clap in Patrick McCaw’s face?
