![]() D | D. Carroll27 MIN, 6 PTS, 2 REB, 1 AST, 2-7 FG, 2-5 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 1 TO, -11 +/- Just a really, really rough night for DeMarre. Got abused by McCollum on the defensive end, couldn’t really find his shot offensively. Didn’t feel like be brought that much to the table.
![]() B | P. Siakam6 MIN, 0 PTS, 0 REB, 0 AST, 0-1 FG, 0-0 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, -3 +/- Left the game after 6 minutes in the first quarter in which he didn’t contribute much, never returned. The grade is more a reflection of Siakam not being given much of an opportunity to contribute.
![]() B- | J. Valanciunas27 MIN, 12 PTS, 12 REB, 1 AST, 5-13 FG, 0-0 3FG, 2-2 FT, 1 BLK, 0 TO, -1 +/- the line is decent, but against this undersized Portland team you expect the big man to score more effectively around the rim. Also, his defense really wasn’t good tonight.
![]() A+ | K. Lowry40 MIN, 27 PTS, 7 REB, 4 AST, 8-18 FG, 5-13 3FG, 6-7 FT, 0 BLK, 3 TO, -8 +/- Once again, Lowry took over the game when the team needed him to, hit some big shots and led the Raptors to the victory. Great game from him, and he keeps proving how good he is and how much this team can and does depend on him to come through for them.
![]() A+ | D. DeRozan37 MIN, 20 PTS, 10 REB, 7 AST, 8-22 FG, 0-1 3FG, 4-7 FT, 0 BLK, 3 TO, 12 +/- Felt like he took some questionable shots, including a contested long three late in the shot clock in the last minute with a 2-point lead, but still had a really impressive line. Easily could’ve been the triple double had Carroll and Patterson hit some open threes.
![]() A | P. Patterson31 MIN, 15 PTS, 8 REB, 0 AST, 5-12 FG, 5-11 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 1 TO, 12 +/- Fifth straight game he’s started the second half, and immediately had an impact again. Hit two threes early in the third quarter, and found his shot enough to have a large impact towards the end of the game. Also had a really solid rebounding night.
![]() C | C. Joseph23 MIN, 6 PTS, 2 REB, 1 AST, 2-11 FG, 0-1 3FG, 2-2 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, 3 +/- Couldn’t hit a shot tonight, and didn’t really feel like he made much of an impact defensively. Just a really off night for him overall.
![]() B | L. Nogueira21 MIN, 4 PTS, 8 REB, 2 AST, 0-1 FG, 0-0 3FG, 4-4 FT, 2 BLK, 1 TO, 5 +/- Struggled to defend the pick and roll, but he delivered most of what was asked. Had a couple of nice blocks, rebounded effectively, and used his length on the defensive end.
![]() B | T. Ross15 MIN, 4 PTS, 2 REB, 0 AST, 2-8 FG, 0-2 3FG, 0-0 FT, 1 BLK, 2 TO, 2 +/- Terry struggled shooting tonight and missed some that we’ve come to expect him to hit. Also had a few rough defensive stretches. But, got his hands on a lot of passes and grabbed four steals, and his two made baskets were big dunks, including a 360(with a man nearby) on which he may have injured his wrist, as he left the game shortly thereafter.
![]() A | N. Powell11 MIN, 1 PTS, 1 REB, 1 AST, 0-2 FG, 0-1 3FG, 1-2 FT, 0 BLK, 1 TO, 9 +/- Norm didn’t have much of an impact offensively, missed an open 3, but was big defensively and +9 in 11 minutes is really impressive.
![]() B | Dwane Casey Had some rotational issues tonight, including a struggling Cory coming back in for Norm late in the game when Norm was doing a decent job on CJ. Wasn’t a pretty game, but we don’t expect Casey to hit the shots, so can’t really put it on him. |
Things We Saw
- This was a very, very sloppy win. But sometimes you gotta win that way, and they got the win. Toughed it out late and worked through their shooting issues to deliver the W, which is the mark of a good team.
- Portland might be a better team with only one of McCollum and Lillard(who sat tonight), because their defense looked better and it allows them to surround their one dominant ball handler with competent three-and-D guys.
- Hopefully Ross is ok, because it’d be nice to have all hands on deck for Golden State on Wednesday. It’d be nice to see the Raps finally get that marquee win they haven’t managed yet this season.
