N. Powell27 MIN, 8 PTS, 5 REB, 2 AST, 1 STL, 3-6 FG, 0-1 3FG, 2-2 FT, 1 BLK, 3 TO, -24 +/-

Had some stretches of good defense, and attacked the basket nicely a few times. Overall, this wasn’t Powell’s greatest game either. He had three turnovers, and got burned defensively a few times.

D
P. Patterson18 MIN, 3 PTS, 2 REB, 4 AST, 1 STL, 1-3 FG, 1-2 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 1 TO, -12 +/-

Wasn’t a factor on offense, and really no one on the Raptors was a factor on defense.

D
S. Ibaka26 MIN, 16 PTS, 5 REB, 0 AST, 1 STL, 7-14 FG, 0-2 3FG, 2-2 FT, 1 BLK, 2 TO, -18 +/-

Came out of the gates really cold, missing a bunch of wide open shots in the first quarter. When he came back into the game, he was indecisive with his passes which led to some ugly turnovers. Scored better in the second half, but overall not a good game for Ibaka.

A-
K. Lowry30 MIN, 20 PTS, 1 REB, 5 AST, 0 STL, 7-12 FG, 2-2 3FG, 4-5 FT, 0 BLK, 2 TO, -22 +/-

Lowry was one of the few Raptors who played really well all game, and has really bounced back from his slow playoff start this year. He finished the game with 20 points, on an efficient 7/12 shooting from the field. Did a good job distributing again, but a majority of the Raptors struggled to hit their shots. Lowry exited the game early in the third quarter with a sore left ankle, but returned minutes later and continued to play some really inspiring basketball. Really hope that ankle is okay moving forward.

F
D. DeRozan31 MIN, 5 PTS, 3 REB, 3 AST, 0 STL, 2-11 FG, 0-0 3FG, 1-3 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, -21 +/-

Scoring wise, this just wasn’t DeRozan’s night. He found no open lanes to go to the basket, and couldn’t find his midrange shot at all. He shot 2/11 from the field, 1/3 from the free throw line, and finished the game with 5 points. This was a bad time for DeRozan to have this kind of scoring night.

D
C. Joseph25 MIN, 22 PTS, 6 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 9-14 FG, 2-3 3FG, 2-2 FT, 1 BLK, 2 TO, -6 +/-

Joseph hasn’t been good at all this postseason. Didn’t see much time tonight when the game really mattered, did some scoring damage in garbage time, but who cares.

J. Valanciunas20 MIN, 23 PTS, 5 REB, 0 AST, 0 STL, 10-13 FG, 0-0 3FG, 3-5 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, -13 +/-

Looked really really good off the bench tonight. The Raptors backcourt did a good job at finding him in the post when matched up against smaller bigs, and Valanciunas did a great job exploiting the mismatches. On defense JV struggled, this isn’t news..

D. Carroll19 MIN, 0 PTS, 1 REB, 1 AST, 2 STL, 0-6 FG, 0-4 3FG, 0-0 FT, 1 BLK, 2 TO, -2 +/-

Came off the bench tonight for the first time this year, and didn’t see much time other than late when the game was pretty much over. Had a couple nice defensive possessions early, but continues to be a mess on offense. He shot 0/6 from the field… DeMarre has been painful to watch this postseason.

D
P. Tucker16 MIN, 0 PTS, 3 REB, 2 AST, 0 STL, 0-3 FG, 0-2 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 1 TO, -9 +/-

Played 15 minutes tonight and I can’t remember Tucker doing anything noteworthy.

C
D. Wright15 MIN, 4 PTS, 1 REB, 2 AST, 1 STL, 2-4 FG, 0-1 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, 2 +/-

I love watching Delon. He played garbage time (which was the entire fourth quarter) but I continue to be excited for Wright’s future.

C
P. Siakam7 MIN, 0 PTS, 1 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 0-2 FG, 0-0 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, 5 +/-

The D-League Finals MVP played 7 minutes, got a rebound, an assist, and missed two shots.

C
J. Poeltl6 MIN, 2 PTS, 3 REB, 0 AST, 0 STL, 1-2 FG, 0-0 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, 6 +/-

Giving all the young guys C’s tonight.

C
F. VanVleet2 MIN, 0 PTS, 1 REB, 0 AST, 0 STL, 0-0 FG, 0-0 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, 4 +/-

Played 2 minutes.

C
Dwane Casey

Made the necessary starting lineup changes, but this one isn’t on Casey. The Raptors couldn’t get anything going offensively, and the Cavaliers couldn’t miss.

Things We Saw

  1. The Raptors defense looked alright early on, the Cavliers just made some ridiculous shots. Cavs started the game making their first 8 threes, and the Raptors continued to miss wide open shots. The slow start killed the Raptors again, and they could never make a legitimate comeback.
  2. The Cavs are really really good. This is reminiscent of last years Eastern Conference Finals, lets hope the Raptors can even this series back up at home. These two games didn’t give fans much hope that the Raptors can win a game in Cleveland.
  3. LeBron James seems unstoppable right now, tonight he passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in playoff scoring and now only trails Michael Jordan. If you think there is a possibility he might slow down in this series, you’re probably wrong.
  4. I’m sad writing this quick reaction.
