Report: Raptors sign Ben McLemore to a 10-Day Contract

Ben McLemore has yet to clear waivers but reportedly plans to sign a 10-day contract with the Toronto Raptors.

The trade deadline meant the acquisition of Marc Gasol and the loss of depth, with the Raptors roster being just 10 players deep.  Yesterday they added Malcolm Miller on a 10-day contract from our very own Raptors905, and today brings more news to bring the roster to 12 for the time being.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Ben McLemore is now a member of the Toronto Raptors…at least for the next 10 days.  The signing won’t be official until Ben clear waivers, but Toronto has reportedly managed to get the agreement in place (suck it tampering rules!).

McLemore played 19 games this season with the Sacramento Kings before being waived on Thursday as part of their trade deadline shenanigans.  While he has never been confused as a defensive presence on the wing, Ben does bring some serious 3 point shooting.  In just 8.3 minutes per game this season he has jacked 2.2 attempts from deep, hitting 41.5 percent beyond the line (career 35.3 percent).

This is little more than an addition of depth, but the Raptors could use an efficient gunner in limited minutes off the bench.  Ben also has familiarity with several current Raptors, having spent last season playing with Marc Gasol in Memphis and he once lost his soul to Kawhi:
