Report: Raptors Sign Eric Moreland to 10-Day Contract

With the suspension of Serge Ibaka, the Raptors are reportedly signing Eric Moreland to a 10-Day contract for additional depth at centre.

The Raptors have added one more temporary piece to the equation by bringing in Eric Moreland on a 10-day contract.  Moreland brings additional centre depth to a rotation that may badly need it for the immediate future.

With Serge Ibaka missing the next 3 games after trying to punch Marquese Chriss in the face (dude either has to chill or get some practice on a punching bag), the Raptors are left with only two true centres on the roster in Marc Gasol and Chris Boucher.

While Pascal Siakam could see some minutes at centre for potential small-ball line-up options, the Raptors can use another big body to take minutes if necessary.

Moreland was in camp with the Raptors this past summer and had a 10-day deal with the Phoenix Suns in December.  He spent last season with the Detroit Pistons playing in 67 games and starting 3.

Moreland is a solid defender and rebounder who brings familiarity with the Raptors from training camp.  You can do a lot worse with a 10-day contract and a temporary position of need.
