Raptors-Celtics Game 1 to kick off on Thursday

The Eastern Conference semi-finals start Thursday.

The Toronto Raptors will “host” the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals on Thursday, Aug. 27, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The exact times for when the games will tip-off and which networks are going to be airing which games have not yet been announced.

Toronto completed its first playoff series sweep Sunday night by defeating the Brooklyn Nets in a blowout win, but lost Kyle Lowry nine minutes into the game. The exact injury (named a “turned ankle” by the team) Lowry sustained is presently unknown, but he will have at least 3.5-ish days before Game 1 against Boston to try and recuperate.

The Celtics also swept their series against the Philadelphia 76ers (an admittedly tougher matchup than Toronto had) earlier on Sunday, and now lie in waiting. The two teams have never met in the playoffs, but it’s pretty safe to assume that neither will be racking up a second sweep this time around.
