Dwane Casey has come out with a pretty nonsensical quote after he was asked what was going on in the fourth quarter:
I was searching to find someone to stop Paul George. That’s what we were searching for…at the end it was searching for someone to Paul George. It wasn’t fair to DeMarre to put him in there after he got going, and then try to turn the water off. We’ll come up with a rotation in that situation.
Let me get this straight. The highest paid guy on the team who you brought in exactly to stop big threes in the playoffs is sitting right there, and he’s still searching for someone to stop Paul George? Has this guy lost it? Then he proceeds to invoke something resembling empathy for Carroll, who didn’t “deserve” to guard George after the latter lit up DeRozan, since he was already hot. So, in Casey’s mind, the guy who gets lit up by a player is the one who should stop him since he’s the one responsible for getting him hot in the first place. Is this real life? Am I understanding this correctly? Seriously, does he actually mean this?
Then there’s something about calling out the real fans, which was downright weird:
Our fans were great, I know they were rocking at the beginning of the game, we’ll find out the true fans, who’s on your side and who’s not.
Some other quotes:

- Defensively, we held them long enough, but once Paul George gets going….
- Lot of it was our inability to get our offense in rhythm

- I thought as a team we were tight offensively, and that frustrated us on the defensive end
- We didn’t play to our identity, and we’ll come back on Monday night and play to our identity.
- On whether team’s psyche is f**ked: No, I don’t listen to the noise…the moment of the playoffs got us tight
- Our fans were great, we’ll find out who the true fans, and who’s not
