Following the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Game 5 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Monday, Richard Jefferson crashed a Sportsnet interview to provide some analysis.
After talking about the game for a little while, Jefferson was asked about his “Bonjour Monday” shirt (which I believe is an Argentine clothing company), then quickly turned his attention to the Toronto Raptors, specifically the Raptors’ fanbase (skip ahead to the three-minute mark).
Hey, hey, Raptors fans. I’m so sorry, it wasn’t personal.
It’s hard to tell if Jefferson is being sincere in his shout out to Raptors fans or trolling a bit, but that’s kind of the line Jefferson likes to toe, anyway. If he’s being earnest, this comes on the back of LeBron James dapping up the Air Canada Centre crowd after Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals, and it seems Toronto made quite the impression on the Cavs.
And if he’s not, well, homie’s a grown man with a comically bad “RJ” tattoo and capri pants, so don’t sweat it. (I find Jefferson to be very likable when he’s not against the Raptors, and I think he’s actually trying to be fun here.)
