P. Siakam26 MIN, 7 PTS, 8 REB, 3 AST, 0 STL, 2-5 FG, 1-1 3FG, 2-2 FT, 1 BLK, 1 TO, 4 +/-

Not one of Pascal’s best nights this year, he struggled a little bit with the way the Wizards were defending him, and didn’t have his usual impact in transition. There will be games like this where teams can take him out of his game, but he still managed to be a presence on the boards.

K. Leonard30 MIN, 27 PTS, 10 REB, 2 AST, 2 STL, 12-22 FG, 1-4 3FG, 2-3 FT, 0 BLK, 1 TO, 14 +/-

Dominant scoring tonight, there was just nothing the Wizards could do to slow him down. At times a little too ball dominant and not enough passing in his game, but when he’s scoring like this it’s hard to complain too much.

J. Valanciunas18 MIN, 8 PTS, 7 REB, 3 AST, 0 STL, 3-7 FG, 0-0 3FG, 2-2 FT, 0 BLK, 3 TO, -4 +/-

The offense is always easy with him when he’s involved, but he was ineffective defensively and exposed by the Wizards attack often, and when the team went away from using him offensively, he didn’t provide much.

K. Lowry30 MIN, 15 PTS, 3 REB, 9 AST, 2 STL, 4-9 FG, 2-4 3FG, 5-6 FT, 0 BLK, 3 TO, 11 +/-

Not the most impressive box score line, but he was really good in this game. Took over in all the right spots, and let other guys get theirs when he didn’t have it.

D. Green25 MIN, 9 PTS, 3 REB, 2 AST, 0 STL, 3-7 FG, 3-7 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 1 TO, 15 +/-

He’s just so dependable. Hits some threes, works hard on defense, and just generally gives the Raptors everything they need from the other guard spot every game.

S. Ibaka27 MIN, 12 PTS, 9 REB, 2 AST, 1 STL, 5-9 FG, 1-2 3FG, 1-2 FT, 4 BLK, 3 TO, 23 +/-

Great game off the bench from him, provided everything that was asked. Help defense was on point and he was active there(Five blocks!) and on the boards, and he contributed some efficient scoring.

F. VanVleet23 MIN, 13 PTS, 4 REB, 7 AST, 0 STL, 4-7 FG, 3-5 3FG, 2-2 FT, 0 BLK, 1 TO, 23 +/-

Fred looked great subbing in with the starters in recent games, and it was nice to see that carry over when he went back to the bench. His attacking off the dribble still isn’t completely there right now, but he’s doing everything else well, whether that’s being active on defense, hitting his shots, or working the ball around to get shots for other guys.

O. Anunoby19 MIN, 15 PTS, 0 REB, 1 AST, 0 STL, 6-11 FG, 3-5 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, 12 +/-

When OG knocks down threes it opens up the game for everyone else. He was really solid with the bench, and also had a brilliant stretch playing alongside Lowry and Leonard where he felt like the perfect fit beside the two stars.

D. Wright18 MIN, 10 PTS, 3 REB, 3 AST, 0 STL, 4-4 FG, 2-2 3FG, 0-0 FT, 1 BLK, 1 TO, 1 +/-

Nice game for Delon, hit every shot he took, had a beautiful block that he wasn’t credited with helping in the paint, and he kept the offense flowing for the bench.

C. Miles18 MIN, 9 PTS, 2 REB, 0 AST, 0 STL, 3-10 FG, 1-7 3FG, 2-2 FT, 0 BLK, 1 TO, 0 +/-

It’s nice to have CJ back in the lineup, and while the shot was once again rusty, he hit a ridiculous circus shot and got the and-1, and he was active on the floor when he was out there.

G. Monroe3 MIN, 0 PTS, 1 REB, 0 AST, 0 STL, 0-1 FG, 0-1 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, -1 +/-

Always great to see minutes for Moose, even if he wasn’t out there long enough to make an impact.

M. Richardson1 MIN, 0 PTS, 0 REB, 0 AST, 0 STL, 0-1 FG, 0-1 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, -4 +/-

Only saw the floor briefly in garbage time.

L. Brown1 MIN, 0 PTS, 0 REB, 0 AST, 0 STL, 0-0 FG, 0-0 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, -4 +/-

As with Malachi, only got in one minute as time expired.

Nick Nurse

Really liked his rotations tonight, felt like he found the right answers when needed to, and he had the players ready to play. Would like to see him run more sets for Kawhi instead of just having repeated isolations, but it’s hard to know whether that is on Nurse or Kawhi the way those decisions are being made right now.

Things We Saw

  1. This felt almost too easy. Wasn’t the Raptors at their absolute best, but it was them more than good enough to get the win, and that’s the story of the season thus far, they have too much talent to not win games against struggling opponents as long they have some great stretches.
  2. Raptors are almost healthy, which is rare this season. Norman Powell is the only guy who wasn’t available tonight, and having CJ and OG back made a big difference for the bench. If they can remain healthy for a stretch it should open up the Raptors to improve further.
  3. Washington has some clear issues in communication. They had some strong minutes, but also some really tough stretches. Clearly a team that isn’t on the same page right now.
