Per Woj, the Raptors have re-signed Gary Trent Jr.

He had incredible ups and downs in his 17 games with the Toronto Raptors. He scored a career-high 31 points on March 31, only to break it by a wide margin and score 44 on April 10. He’s a streaky shooter with a nasty pull-up and self-creation streak. And he’s only 22 years old with huge amounts of room to grow.
On the other hand, the Raptors were significantly better on defense with Trent on the bench. That he has plenty to learn about the Toronto system is an understatement, but his skillset is a theoretical perfect fit with Toronto’s requirements. Smart money bets the two sides learn how to win together during his deal. The money is likely higher than his current performance level, but the bet is that he’ll grow into it.
The news comes on the heels of the news that Kyle Lowry is heading to Miami. Toronto’s roster is clarifying as we speak.
