Drake may have turned The 6ix upside down (it’s a 9ine now), but we may soon have to ask the question: What’s The 6ix when you take away it’s biggest One? It turns out it may be, as the math suggest, a 5ive, as in 510.
That’s a really convoluted lede to get to this point: Drake wants the Golden State Warriors to repeat as NBA champions. Or so it comes across in an interview with Nardwuar (shout out to UBC) that was released Monday. Here’s the relevant clip, courtesy our man AP:

It’s possible he awkwardly meant repeat as MVP, but the tense (hope he comes back and repeats) and context of the segment suggest he meant the title (he said as much at All-Star Weekend, too). Here’s the full interview:
This shouldn’t be that big of a deal. Drake’s a big basketball fan, and while he’s the Raptors’ global ambassador, he’s probably also realistic about their chances to go the distance. And he’d surely root for the Raptors if they got to the NBA Finals (I think), but given it’s somewhat unlikely, him putting his support behind Steph Curry is understandable. We pass this along because some may get riled up about it, or continue pushing the Drake-as-frontrunner narrative, or whatever. Please don’t make a big deal out of this.
It’s fine, especially if we can turn around and get Mistah FAB on the Raptors bandwagon.
