Kyle Lowry to participate in 3-Point shootout

Save your jokes, jerks.

Kyle Lowry will participate in the NBA All-Stars 3-Point Shootout for the third time, the NBA announced Thursday.

Lowry will join Klay Thompson, Bradley Beal, Paul George, Devin Booker, Tobias Harris, Wayne Ellington, and defending champion Eric Gordon in the event on All-Star Saturday Night.

This is Lowry’s fourth consecutive All-Star Game and his third consecutive appearance in the 3-point contest. Things haven’t gone well in his two other appearances. In 2015-16, Lowry didn’t make it out of the first round, finishing sixth out of seven participants with 15 points. Last year he was hampered by what we’d eventually find out was a wrist injury that required surgery and he finished last in the field of eight with nine points.

Lowry is a good shooter despite these results, which is obviously why he’s been invited again. He ranks eighth in the NBA with 133 3-pointers made entering play Thursday, hitting 38.6 percent of his attempts.
