The Toronto Raptors held their fifth pre-draft workout this morning at OVO Athletic Centre, bringing in a combination of strong scoring guards, wings, and big men with Burlington, ON native Simi Shittu, NCAA Division II Player of the Year Daulton Hommes, and CAA Player of the Year Justin Wright-Foreman headlining the group. Armoni Brooks averaged 13.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.3 3-pointers in his junior season for University of Houston. The six-foot-three guard became the fifth player in the program’s history to score over 200 3-pointers in his career while becoming the sixth player to record over 100 triples in a single season.
Aric Holman

Aric Holman is a six-foot-ten, 225-pound forward who averaged 9.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game in his senior year for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The big man is known for his defensive capability (averaged a career-high 2.0 blocks per game in his sophomore season), and also has developed an outside touch over his career, scoring 1.3 3-pointers per game at a 42.9% clip.
Daulton Hommes

Daulton Hommes won the NABC award as the 2018-19 Division II Player of the Year this past season and went on to lead Point Loma Nazarene University to the NCAA D-2 championship game this past season and. Hommes is an athletic 6-foot-8 forward who can score from almost anywhere on the floor, and gained popularity when he became Gordon Hayward’s summer workout partner in 2018. Hommes doesn’t seem like a D-2 player, but after suffering injuries in high school that forced him to sit out his junior and senior year, he became a walk-on at Western Washington University for his freshman season.
Isaiah Pineiro

Isaiah Pineiro wrapped up his junior season with San Diego with a near double-double average, scoring 18.8 points and grabbing 9.4 boards per game in 36 games with the Toreros. The six-foot-seven wing has a well-rounded game, with an ability to create plays for his teammates, finish around the rim, while knocking down catch-and-shoot 3’s could be a valuable combination of skills in at the professional level.
Simi Shittu

Simi Shittu was a highly-touted Canadian five-star high school prospect coming into Vanderbilt, and averaged 10.9 points and 6.7 rebounds in his freshman season, starting in 31 of 32 games for the Commodores. The 6-foot-10, 240 lbs forward possesses strong athleticism and ability to rebound and score around the rim, but still needs to further develop his shooting touch. The Burlington, ON native scored only 1 for 18 from 3-pointers this season while shooting 57.6% from the free throw line.
Justin Wright-Foreman

Justin Wright-Foreman is an elite scorer who averaged 27.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists for Hofstra University this season, wrapping up his four-year career with the program as the second all-time leading scorer with 2,327 points. His ball-handling, speed, driving, and ability to shoot from anywhere on the floor has made him a hard cover for defences at the college level, particularly off of the pick-and-roll. The six-foot-two guard averaged 3.1 3-pointers this season at a 42.5% rate, and has drastically improved his shooting overall from his freshman season in 2015-16, going from 23.5% to 42.5% from long distance, while improving his free throw percentage from 54.5% to 86.4%.
