Running out of words for this guy! Give him the full season and maybe he could’ve snuck into the back end of MVP convos, man. Manipulates at every level of the defense, gifts layups to teammates, hits all the tough shots for himself. What do you say?? He’s incredible.

P. Achiuwa40 MIN, 20 PTS, 4 REB, 2 AST, 1 STL, 7-11 FG, 5-7 3FG, 1-2 FT, 1 BLK, 5 TO, +5 +/-

Board, 3 dribbles, pull-up triple! He hit 5 in this game!!! He also had a bunch of turnovers, but this game showed a lot of what makes Precious special overall. Offensive pop, really impressive defense.

B+
S. Barnes41 MIN, 13 PTS, 10 REB, 2 AST, 0 STL, 6-12 FG, 1-3 3FG, 0-0 FT, 0 BLK, 2 TO, -7 +/-

Chipping in on offense where he can, gifting his length on defense, and providing some seriously fun plays. Probably had the highlight of his career taken away by a tough call, too. Wowed in some moment, and quietly succeeded in some others. Good enough.

This wasn’t his matchup. He’s the security blanket if one of the Raptors better frontcourt guys is having trouble, and he wasn’t needed much in this one.

G. Trent Jr.41 MIN, 30 PTS, 5 REB, 3 AST, 1 STL, 12-21 FG, 5-8 3FG, 1-1 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, +7 +/-

Sheesh. Hit some C&S threes, and then turned that into downhill lanes. The bump in halfcourt scoring was massive and his shot-making helped the Raptors live, thrive even, in the Siakam-less minutes. A really, really nice game.

B+
T. Young31 MIN, 6 PTS, 5 REB, 2 AST, 3 STL, 2-10 FG, 1-5 3FG, 1-2 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, +22 +/-

He’s providing A LOT on defense. His understanding of the scheme has come a long way and he’s very shrewd operating in it. Some really solid plays on the other end as well. Very nice stuff from Thad.

B+
C. Boucher25 MIN, 7 PTS, 3 REB, 0 AST, 0 STL, 2-4 FG, 1-2 3FG, 2-2 FT, 3 BLK, 0 TO, +16 +/-

The defense is in such a good place, and it was really noticeable in this one. As the Sixers tried to work the ball around his length kept popping up to complicate things. A cashed triple, charge, and some more hustle plays are all part of the Boucher bag.

B-
M. Flynn13 MIN, 4 PTS, 0 REB, 1 AST, 0 STL, 1-2 FG, 1-1 3FG, 1-1 FT, 0 BLK, 0 TO, +1 +/-

AND ONEEEEEE. Quiet game otherwise, but he had some nice blitzes in the pick n’ roll on defense.

Nick Nurse

The starting lineup was a real disaster, but he obviously wanted to maintain some of his fav lineups later on. It ended up working out. Coaching is easy when guys like Pascal play like they do! The Embiid-less minutes got slammed, and that’s what they needed.

Things We Saw

  1. This would be a hell of a playoff matchup.
  2. It might sound blasphemous, but the 76ers could very well be in better shape in the playoffs by giving Thybulle less minutes.
  3. Raptors games are really starting to be everything you could want. Interesting playstyles, star performances, and WINS.
