The Toronto Raptors are expected to sign Malcolm Miller of the Raptors 905 to a 10-day contract, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Miller is a familiar face to the organization and likely would have been signed at the beginning of the season if not for a torn labrum in his right shoulder over the summer. He played in 15 games for the Raptors during the 2017-18 season, fitting in as a 3-and-D swingman and not trying to do too much.
Most notably, he had a personal 7-0 scoring run against the Houston Rockets as part of a statement win over the Raptors at home, and defended Victor Oladipo quite well in Indiana. Naturally, with pieces like Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green and OG Anunoby, Miller is an “in case of emergency” option. The roster is now at 11.
In six games and four starts for the 905 this season, Miller has averaged 8.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 33.3 percent from beyond the arc.

The Detroit Pistons appear to have reached an agreement with Wayne Ellington, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Ellington would have surely been a nice get for the Raptors, but likely preferred the opportunity of more playing time with the Pistons. The 31-year-old is a free agent at the end of the year and after the lack of playing time in Miami, is probably eager to showcase himself as much as he can with the hope of signing one final long-term deal.
This makes the Miller signing a tick more important, but a tough blow nonetheless.
