The “there is no v in moral” edition:

Alabi: after tearing down boards like they were paper last night, Red Solo Cup barely saw any action….and not in the RapsFan type of way.

Anderson: still racking up 40+ minutes but tonight his game was more disjointed than a six year old trying to talk sensibly after downing 2 Rockstars.

Davis: a nice game derailed by foul trouble. 11 boards is nothing to sneeze at against a Bucks team, but since they only shot 37%, you have to think there were some golden opportunities lost by the 76th team All Star.

DeRozan: throwing a ball into the stands is unnecessary, unless it’s at the ACC and it’s heaved at the SuperFan (who really is just a car dealer looking to gain free advertising). DeMar messed up and did it on the road tonight, but it bought him an early exit and a way to beat the lines at the bratwurst stand.

Forbes: 15 points and 5 assists in a game that seemed to challenge his interest at times. It’s like he floats in and out of consciousness more frequently than Arsenalist at a St. Louis Wings party.

Gray: the bearded wonder had me wanting to get re-acquainted with the big bearded guy upstairs and ask for divine intervention into the search for Aaron’s game from early 2012.  Leo seemed to imply that Aaron had a chip on his shoulder playing in Milwaukee. Well, if he did, it was more like a styrofoam chip used in packing material because he was softer than margarine.

A. Johnson: if you are going to dunk, do it with meaning. Amir’s made the local cows lose of of their milk from the force. The rest of his game tonight was quiet, dignified, and, well, boring.

J. Johnson: in the starting lineup and playing like his momma just cussed him out something fierce. 10 of 21, for 22 points and 13 rebounds. Only the Octomom outperformed James. Still need him at the line more.

Uzoh: good stat filler for the last week of your fantasy pool.  8 points 5 assists 4 rebounds from a guy that has one more audition left before summer league and a hope and a prayer.

Driving the bus: James Johnson

Under the bus: DeMar DeRozan

Big loss tonight. One more to go, and then I can look forward to the lottery.

    Wonder what the Ratpors will look like next season… with two or more rookies on the roster….{{{{SHUDDER}}}}

    • Destro

lol aint you heard were competing for a playoff spot next year, maybe even home court….

  • TheR3dMenace

This L sets up one of most interesting season finales in recent memories, I cant wait to judge the vibe at the ACC

    • Destro

There will be no vibe…nothing interesting about shitty teams playing out the string….This team is about as irrelevant in this city as they have ever been…Honestly out side of the 14 000 that show up,this team dont exist…

      • Nilanka15

I disagree.  Yes, the attendance numbers are down (understandably), but still impressive considering the quality, or lack thereof, of the product over the past 4 years.  The fanbase is dying for meaningful basketball.

Depending on the moves Colangelo makes this summer, this team could be very relevant in a few short months.  The market is there.  The product just needs to improve.

        • Destro

Again you’re arguing nothing said….I said the team has no buzz right now…nobody cares outside of the 14 k that show up to home games…and even then the vibe is dead in the building….Alot of the fans going now are going because the tickets are dirt cheap or free…Sit anywhere you want in the reds behind the raptor goal for 12 bucks….Nobody said the markets NOT here….markets been DEAD for years and it becomes a lil less relevant every year…

          • Nilanka15

This site is proof that there are plenty of folks who care outside of the 14k who attend games.  You and I are clear examples.

It doesn’t get any more obvious than that.

      • TheR3dMenace

You missed my point. I was commenting more on the fact that this is a critical game for #TankNation. There will be Raps fans there possibly cheering for a loss.

        • Destro

I dont think TankNation supports the team IN person,i could be wrong…

  • Truthkiller

Whew even with DDR tossed out Raptors thanks to freakin’ James Johnson nearly won the game… Casey should’ve benched him.

    The Tank lives on.

    • Raps Loyalist

Yeah what the hell is Dwayne Casey trying to prove keeping him in there!

Casey needs to get the memo for this last game…

      Just Tank Baby!

ps. If the league doesn’t suspend DD for throwing the ball into the stands then the Raptors should “discipline” him and bench him against the Nets.

    Where’s Kleiza?

  • Ppellico

    Aren’t you being
presumptuous about visiting the bearded one upstairs?

    You have no soul.

If you have a heart, it
is very likely dislocated in the wrong section of your body, as you brain is in
    your ass.

    Gray had 3 minutes of

    That is insignificant
time and statistically impossible to be evaluated.

    Well, that is unless
words are needed to a stupid piece like this.

  • Nilanka15

I don’t see New Jersey competing on Thursday.  There’s no way D.Will suits up.

The Raptors are a rare team who actually competes with nothing on the line.  We can’t say the same about the Nets.

If not for those 2 [meaningless] wins vs. Boston and Atlanta, we could’ve be looking at a sweet 10-game losing streak heading into the finale.  We’d be sitting in 3rd last, rather than 6th last.  Sigh….

    • mountio

But, but, but .. what about the “winning culture” that those wins brought to TO?
      ugggh …

      • Raps Loyalist

The worst the Raps could finish the season is in 8th worst (if they win and a bunch of other teams lose) or tied for 4th worst….a lot of the line in the next couple days.

I hope Demar gets suspended for the last game.  and James Johnson should get a DNP-coach’s decision just to be safe

        • Nilanka15

Kleiza should also be benched for not shaving his sideburns.

          • Raps Loyalist

Kleiza’s playing terrible right now.  He should play the entire game and Casey shouldn’t call any timeouts.

One guy I do want benched is Alan Anderson.  He can come back next season but I don’t want his hot shooting ruining what could otherwise be a well executed tanking by the Raps against the Nets.

      • Nilanka15

        lol, exactly.

I mentioned something along those lines in the forums.  There probably aren’t many people who remember our season finale last year (an ugly loss to Miami’s bench, led by Eddie House, lol).

But it certainly didn’t affect the mentality of our troops this year.

        • mountio

I remember it well (notwithstanding all the beers I had at the ACC to drown my sorrows on the season). I think that was the game that sealed Gots2Go’s desite for JM to come and be a contributor in TO …

What the Raptors and Nets should do is … they should agree that whoever wins Thursday night’s game gets the OTHER team’s lottery position.

    Then we’d have something.

    • Nilanka15

      lol, brilliant!
