For two years now, Toronto Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas has been promising that by the end of the 2016-17 season, he would hit a 3-pointer. Well…

It’s just his fourth 3-point attempt in five seasons, and the first he’s hit. An established mid-range shooting threat, Valanciunas works on his jumper pretty tirelessly, but the thought that he’d eventually step out beyond the line, even as a trailer like on this play, seemed more fantasy than likelihood. I’m not exaggerating when I say that Valanciunas has been saying this was coming for two years – it’s been a big of a running gag he and I have, and at every update, he’s offered a wink and a smile with the promise it was coming.
Always believe. It’s Playoff JV, everyone.
Amazing. What a way to end the season.
