Ochai Agbaji – 22 MIN, 8 PTS, 2 REB, 0 AST, 2 STL, 0 BLK, 1 TO, 3-6 FG, 1-3 3FG, 1-1 FT
Ochai had good activity on defense tonight, he was one of the only Raptors who didn’t seem to be allowing his man to gallop into the lane at times. Offensively he remained to his tertiary role, despite there being some opportunity for some different looks tonight, overall a nice quiet and solid game for Agbaji.
Grade: B
Jamal Shead – 21 MIN, 8 PTS, 3 REB,5 AST, 1 STL, 0 BLK, 3 TO, 3-9 FG, 2-5 3FG, 0-0 FT
Shead being tasked with point guard duties tonight meant more ball-handling than he’s used to, and also more attention than he is used to as well, and you could see how it was impacting him negatively. He did knock down some timely three pointers, but he didn’t really have command of the offense tonight, and he had some sloppy turnovers as well.
Grade: C+
Gradey Dick – 24 MIN, 22 PTS, 6 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 0 BLK, 1 TO, 8-13 FG, 3-5 3FG, 1-1 FT
Gradey was the offense tonight. He spent all of his minutes zooming around the court, taking handoffs, running off of pin downs, sprinting in transition, he was just a blur and a headache for Boston to handle. His shooting stroke looked pure tonight and he showed that he can be an extremely valuable offensive weapon tonight.
Grade: A+
Ja’Kobe Walter – 22 MIN, 1 PTS, 1 REB, 5 AST, 0 STL, 0 BLK, 1 TO, 0-8 FG, 0-4 3FG, 1-2 FT
Extremely rough outing for Walter tonight, he could not throw a rock in the ocean. His handle looked extremely loose, and he was getting stonewalled by defenders on many of his drives as well. This is definitely a game that Walter would like to forget.
Grade: D
Jonathan Mogbo – 19 MIN, 8 PTS, 5 REB, 3 AST, 1 STL, 0 BLK, 5 TO, 4-7 FG, 0-0 3FG, 0-0 FT
Mogbo hit a game winning layup tonight, and he was instrumental in Toronto’s comeback. He forced many turnovers, and he also had some great touch on his rim looks, something that he has struggled with in the past. His presence around the rim and in screening actions made it possible for Toronto to climb back into this game.
Grade: A
Chucky Hepburn – 27 MIN, 13 PTS, 3 REB, 8 AST, 4 STL, 0 BLK, 2 TO, 4-11 FG, 3-6 3FG, 2-3 FT
Down the stretch, Hepburn led the offense very well. His constant forays into the paint led to great looks for his teammates, and he even knocked in a few looks in the closing quarter as well. His defense was the most impressive thing about him tonight, as he seemed to always be in the right place, and his hands were always finding the ball and forcing turnovers.
Grade:A
Jamison Battle -21 MIN, 12 PTS, 1 REB, 2 AST, 0 STL, 0 BLK, 1 TO, 4-8 FG, 4-8 3FG, 0-0 FT
Battle’s shooting was so important for Toronto tonight. His role as a floor spacer is simple, and Battle performed in it as well as you can ask tonight. He didn’t force any looks, he took what the defense gave him, and if the look wasn’t there he would pump fake and try to get the ball moving.
B+
Alijah Martin -20 MIN, 9 PTS, 3 REB, 0 AST, 1 STL, 0 BLK, 0 TO, 3-5 FG, 2-4 3FG, 1-2 FT
Martin shot the three-ball better than you would expect tonight, his form is a little stiff but the ball still found its way into the basket. His athleticism was also able to be on display tonight as he had a thunderous slam in transition that got Scotiabank on its feet tonight.
B
Sandro Mamukelashvili -21 MIN, 7 PTS, 5 REB, 3 AST, 2 STL, 0 BLK, 2 TO, 2-7 FG, 0-5 3FG, 3-3 FT
Not the best game shooting wise from Mamu, but his ability to move the ball, draw hard closeouts, and constantly be moving around the floor served him well tonight. Defensively he seemed to be a bit overwhelmed by Boston’s speed, but he still cleaned up on the glass a good amount.
B-
Darko Rajaković
Darko decided to bench all of the starters tonight in order to get a good look at the reserves and the younger guys as well. He used Gradey in a brilliant way, although its worth questioning if Gradey should be pressing as much as Darko has him do it. Darko put out the best lineups possible given the circumstances, and he was rewarded with a win on the back of a game winning layup for Mogbo.
Grade: B+
